Nine EAGLE 6/7s and 7/8s enjoyed a spring break trip to France that included some Parisian sightseeing and a homestay in Melesse, Brittany.
Paris visits included Notre Dame, the Mémorial des martyrs de la déportation, the Louvre, Montmartre & Sacre Coeur, the Eiffel Tower (as seen from Trocadero), the Marais district, the church at Saint Germain des Près, an art exhibit at the Bon Marché, and a “Bateau Mouche” on the Seine.
In addition to sight seeing, our travelers stayed with French families in Melesse, a quiet community just north of Rennes. All of our EAGLE students were initially very nervous about that aspect of the trip but now they will tell you that it was the best part of the experience. During the week, students attended the Mathurin Méheut Middle School along with their host siblings and also enjoyed a few exciting field trips, including downtown Rennes, the Mont-Saint-Michel and the Château de Combourg, home to writer Chateaubriand.
Take a peek at a few photos their their trip.
We hope to continue this sort of experience each year. A trip to Quebec City is already in the works for the week after graduation and a return to France is in the planning stages for spring break 2026.
