Since joining EAGLE as School Director in 2018, I have felt deeply honored and fortunate to be part of this wonderful community. As I look ahead to my retirement at the end of the 2026–27 school year, I want to share a few thoughts.

Despite current global conflicts, we live in remarkable, and arguably optimistic, times. On a world-wide scale, we are healthier and more technologically advanced than ever before, providing profound opportunities for growth and prosperity. Key to this is education, which enables not only literacy and numeracy, but also social mobility and advancement.

Throughout my long career in education, beginning in 1984, I have felt grateful that my work as a teacher and school leader makes a difference and is part of the continuing betterment of humanity. There is always room for improvement, but I can rest in the knowledge that I’ve helped plant seeds that will continue to nourish this positive trajectory. In a world of uncertainty, the character of our EAGLE students and the strength of this community bring me hope.

Being School Director has never been a solo endeavor as I believe my efforts have been enriched and multiplied by those I engage with every day. A vital part of a school community comes from the effective partnership among administration, teachers, and parents. What I take away from my time at EAGLE is the richness of those partnerships, and for this, I’m both touched and grateful.

EAGLE School’s Board of Directors’ primary responsibility is to support the mission and financial success of the school and that includes hiring the next Director. Leadership transitions are critical events in close-knit organizations like ours, and to ensure a smooth adjustment, I’ve been timely and purposeful in keeping the Board informed of my plans. I’m pleased that they are moving decisively forward with their Director search, and I look forward to working with my successor to maintain our school’s positive momentum. While change can be challenging, I am confident that EAGLE is well positioned to use this transition as a growth opportunity.

I very much look forward to another great year ahead, working alongside teachers, students, parents, and our excellent administrative team. I fully expect to finish my nine years at EAGLE on a high note, knowing that I’ve been a good steward of a community I’ve grown to love.

Thank you,

Andy Wright
