EAGLE Students shine at Madison Area Math League

The third Madison Area Math League Event took place on Wednesday, February 17th.  While this was a challenging event for all, students rose to the challenge and earned a number of ribbons.

In the Junior Varsity Event Katy Walder, for the second time this year, earned a first place ribbon. Ryan Huang also won a first place ribbon.

Nikhil Sharma won a third place ribbon and Sahir Kamal, Aruanava Prabhakaran, and Theo Chung all won 5th place ribbons.

The JV Team Donkey Postulate won 1st place for small schools (out of 5 small schools competing) and 3rd place overall (out of 16 schools!). This team’s strength was created by Ellen Irving, Nikhil Sharma, Sahir Kamal, Adora Zhang, Katy Walder and Tenny Sinclair.

The JV Team Trojan Horses won second place for small schools and fourth place overall!  They also had fewer students, so had fewer people contributing points.  These mathematicians were Maksym David, Ryan Huang, Theo Chung and Arunava Prabhakaran.

Our Varsity team took 3rd place for small schools (out of 9 schools) and consisted of just five students (out of a possible 8).  These thinkers were Angelina Wang, Maitreyee Singh, Louis Bingner, Thomas Ying, and our new student Ezra Barwick.  Congratulations for their hard work!
