We’ve added another program to our lineup of summer camp offerings: an engaging and thought-provoking art program for rising 4th through 8th graders.
“I am: Building the Bridge between Art and Self” will be led by guest artist Stacey Smith. Stacey received her Art Education B.S. degree from UW-Lacrosse in 2020 and has been eager to teach in the Madison area. This new summer camp program will offer her the chance to share her love of mixed media techniques with our camp participants. Students will be able to use a variety of materials — watercolors, oil pastels, magazines, cardboard, and items found in nature — to create works of art that foster a sense of agency within the artist, that question and/or reveal identity, and that highlight the strengths found in our diversity.
The works of art pictured above are by a few of Stacey’s past young artists and we are excited to display the new works that our summer camp participants will create in June.
This art camp will meet mornings, 8:30-11:30, June 13-17. To register, jump to our Summer Camp page here. If you have already registered your student for a different camp and would like to make a switch, please email the Summer Camp Coordinator, Andrew Irving (monsieur@eagleschool.org) and he’ll make that change happen.
