Academic Experiences

EAGLE offers a variety of academic experiences that challenge students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and showcase their talents. Through creative endeavors, collaborative projects, and competitions, students engage in research, critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-expression. These opportunities foster intellectual growth, celebrate achievement, and connect students to broader learning communities beyond the classroom.

Seventh grade students collaborate with writers from Children’s Theater of Madison to develop original plays through a guided workshop process. All completed scripts are performed on the EAGLE stage, and one selected piece is performed as a read-through by CTM actors during a class field trip alongside winning scripts from other area schools.

EAGLE students in Math 5 and above participate in the National Math Olympiad, a series of five challenging contests, conducted monthly from November through March. These competitions encourage problem-solving, logical reasoning, and creative thinking, allowing students to test their skills against peers across the country. The EAGLE Spelling Bee begins in our language arts classrooms, giving students the chance to test their spelling skills and build confidence in a supportive environment. Top spellers advance to regional competitions, then to state-level contests, and in some cases, even to the national stage. This progression celebrates students’ hard work, encourages mastery of language, and fosters pride in academic achievement.

Math AMC gives students the opportunity to take part in the American Mathematics Competitions, a series of challenging problem-solving contests. Participants prepare by exploring advanced topics and practicing unique questions that build reasoning, precision, and mathematical creativity. The program encourages students to stretch their thinking and engage with mathematics in a deeper, more competitive context.
