School Counselor

We are looking for a highly motivated elementary/middle school counselor who enjoys working collaboratively and is passionate about student achievement.  Candidates for this position must be familiar with the characteristics and social/emotional needs of gifted learners. The strong candidate will promote and enhance the learning process for gifted students through a combination of academic, social/emotional, and career development.  Candidates should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to work with other school staff, parents, and community agencies and service providers to provide support and deliver high quality services for gifted students.  Primary responsibilities will include classroom and small group guidance, individualized counseling, and assisting with transitions (particularly 8th grade to high school and the changes associated with entering a school for gifted students). This is a full-time position.

Start date: Late August 2017

Qualifications:  An understanding and appreciation for gifted learners.  Top candidates will possess a combination of educational experience (course work, reading, conferences, seminars, and workshops focused on gifted learners) and work experience in a gifted learning environment (classroom, support staff, camp programs, enrichment courses).

Physical Education Teacher

EAGLE School seeks a Physical Education Teacher beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. This is a 50% position.  Candidates should have the ability to motivate each student to develop strength, skills, agility and coordination while learning individual and team physical activities and sports. The top candidate will value the learning process, enjoy interacting with elementary students and will be a collaborative team player who effectively builds relationships between students, staff, school and families. A successful candidate will communicate in developmentally appropriate ways, using a sensitive approach that clearly communicates that every child, regardless of ability, can succeed and will benefit from a physically active, healthy lifestyle.
