March 14th, 2013 We wrapped up another year of Ski Club with an all-day event at Devil’s Head on Friday, Feb. 22. Snow conditions improved as the day went on, and everyone in attendance had a great time. (Check out the pictures on the EAGLE website.)
The variable weather made it a rough winter for Ski Club, with three out of six trips being cancelled—two because of the cold and one because it was too warm and raining! In spite of it all, we persevered and had a wonderful level of participation with 58 students and parents joining us for various outings during the season.
Refunds for the cancelled trips were left in students’ lockers today. Please check with your child to be sure your check came home. If you paid for a trip but did not attend, please complete a request form from the Ski Club website (http://eagleskiclub.wordpress.com) and leave it in the reception office, or email it to Dan Siehr (dg.siehr@sbcglobal.net), who will issue a refund.
January 28th, 2013 The home game against Abundant Life that was originally scheduled for February 5, has been changed to Thursday, February 14. The boys will play at 4:00 pm and the girls at 5:00 pm, in our EAGLE gym.
December 18th, 2012 Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
All EAGLE students and their families are invited to join us for their choice of fun Friday evenings and two all-day trips at Devil’s Head Resort. As in the past, a bus will pick up skiers at Panera on Fish Hatchery Road and at Dean Health Clinic-West on High Point Road. Kids under nine years of age must be accompanied by a parent. For dates, forms, pricing, club news, and trip cancellations, visit http://EagleSkiClub.wordpress.com. Please register at the site, print and sign your consent form, and turn in your payment and form to the reception office by December 20. We will accept registration forms up until January 9, but please get yours in next week, if possible. Also, we want the ski club to be accessible to everyone! If money is tight this year, please take advantage of our generous “ski-larship” fund. Details are on the website. Questions about Ski Club? Contact coordinator Lori Compas at EagleSkiClub@gmail.com.

November 8th, 2012 It’s that time of year again–time to think about hitting the slopes! We’ll be skiing and snowboarding at Devil’s Head again this winter, so look for enrollment instructions the last week of November. We’ve built up a sizable “ski-larship” fund, so support is available for any student in need who would like to participate.
Ski Club coordinator Lori C. is looking for someone to “learn the ropes” this year and take on coordinator responsibilities for next year. (Her daughter, Anna, will graduate in the spring.) Lori has set up a website and a system to track attendees, so it’s a fun and relatively easy job. If you’re interested in continuing this great tradition and are willing to coordinate Ski Club events, please contact Lori.
November 2nd, 2012 This month, Madison will be hosting the first ever professional women’s squash tournament in the state of Wisconsin. The tournament will take place Nov. 28 through Dec. 2 and will be hosted by Madison Squash Workshop. This is a free event and open to the public! For more details, visit www.squashworkshop.com. Even if you don’t have an interest in playing squash, this is a great opportunity to meet and watch some of the world’s top professionals. EAGLE parent Gregg Kissel is also making arrangements to have some of the pros visit our school to do a demonstration. More information to follow in future Aerie-Grams. Questions? Contact Gregg.
November 2nd, 2012 Parents of interested students (5/6s-7/8s) should email Jack with your student’s name and the subject “Basketball Registration.” Then, submit your $45.00 registration fee to the reception office. (Be sure to make your check payable to EAGLE School and write “basketball” in the bottom left corner.)
The girls had their first practice on Thursday, Nov. 1 (their usual practice day), and the boys will begin practice on Tuesday, Nov. 6 (their usual practice day). Practices are one hour, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. Games will typically be played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays at 4:00 or 5:00 pm. Teams may participate in games that are not on their usual practice day. Watch for game schedules in the coming weeks.
