On Friday, May 9, Student Council will sponsor an end-of-year dance for 5/6-7/8 students from 6:30 to 9:00 pm in the Commons. Tickets are $4.95 in advance ($6.95 at the door) and will be sold during lunch. Pizza will be provided. We still need 2-3 parent volunteers, so if you are able to chaperone or bring treats, please email Martha at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spirit Week – The Student Council has chosen May 5-9 to be “spirit” week. Instead of having just one fun day, there will be five in a row!
Cinco de Monday (5/5) – Celebrate this important date in Mexico’s history by wearing authentic Mexican clothing, soccer jerseys, or red, white, and green clothes.
Tic Tac Tuesday (5/6) – Student Council will be selling Tic Tacs, Mentos, and other treats at lunch for $1.00 each.
Wacky Wednesday (5/7) – Wear your wackiest clothes and craziest combinations
Pajama Day (5/8) – Roll out of bed and wear your pajamas to school.
Homeroom Wars (5/9) – Each homeroom will choose a theme and dress up accordingly.
Mark your calendars! The EAGLE School Talent Show will take place on March 21 during TGIF. We will hold tryouts for the show on Tues., Feb. 18; Tues., Feb. 25; and Thurs., Feb. 27 during recess and lunch. Sign up on the sheets on the bulletin board in the main hallway. We are looking for acts that include singing, dancing, poetry reading, piano playing, karate or anything that is entertaining. Come to the gym prepared to show your entire act. Each student can perform in only ONE act, so audition in the talent category that best suits you.
Do you have a favorite T.V. show or video game? Book character or sports team? On Friday, March 7, wear clothes to show what you are a fan of.
The Student Council will host a dance for 5/6s – 7/8s on Friday, Jan. 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Tickets will be sold for $5.00 during lunch periods. Anyone wishing to bring snacks or treats to the dance (besides pretzels or chips), or any parent who would like to help, should email Marcia at email@example.com.
On Thursday, Jan. 16, wear all of your bracelets, necklaces, hair clips, ties and bow ties, earrings, hats, socks and glasses. More is more!
On Thursday, Dec. 19, Student Council will sell mints, flavored water, and other
beverages during lunch. All items will be $1.00 or less.
Student Council will sponsor Café Night for 4/5s-7/8s on Friday, Dec. 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Tickets are $2.00 and will be sold during the week of Dec. 9. During this event, students will have the opportunity to purchase food (subs, pizza, sides, and desserts) and listen to jazz music. All proceeds from the evening will go toward hurricane relief efforts in the Philippines. Parent volunteers are still needed for this event. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help.
The Student Council’s annual collection to help local food pantries is underway. From now through November 26th, students may turn in non-perishable food items as they arrive in the morning in exchange for stickers (one for each item donated), which will then be added to our snowflake bulletin board in the upper hallway. It will be fun to watch the snowstorm grow over the duration of the food drive as students attempt to create a “blizzard of hope” for Madison area families in need.
On Monday, Nov. 25, wear a moustache (paper, drawn, painted–be creative!)
